COURT REPORTER PRO PAGE BREAKS SELECTION
USE page breaks: [default]
Some ASCII TEXT files have IMBEDDED PAGE BREAK CHARACTERS
within the text. You can identify them when viewing the ASCII
TEXT file in a word processor, because they look like
either the "woman" --> [] symbol or a CONTROL L.
They are created with a CNTRL+L keystroke. Ascii code 12.
This command tells the printer to stop printing this page
and go on to the next page.
IGNORE page breaks:
If you want this program not to use these commands, and to
print maximum text lines to the paper.
CUSTOM: If you must: you may use this option to set the lines
per page to a value between 55 and 66 lines per page.
NORMALLY COURT REPORTER ASCII TEXT MUST USE PAGE BREAKS,
SO SET THIS OPTION -ON- IF IN DOUBT!
* help window 4
COURT REPORTER PRO TAB SELECTION MENU
Select TAB values to match the text file you are printing.
TABs cause spaces to be inserted into the printed document
until the column number divided by the TAB amount has a
remainder of ZERO. ( this is called a MODULUS ).
Example: if you are at column 5 and TAB = 8 when a TAB char
is found, SPACES will be inserted in columns 5,6,7,8 before
the next character is printed.
Experiment with this option to achieve the best looking
printed results. You will get used to TABS.
* help window 5
COURT REPORTER PRO - PAGE NUMBERING AND SHADOWING
PAGE NUMBERING - Default is ON.
When ON the page number is printed to the UPPER-LEFT of
each square on the paper. [NOTE] if you have TITLE or
APPEARANCE pages numbered: i ii ii (etc.) the PAGE NUMBER
will NOT reflect your ASCII's correct PAGE NUMBER.
PAGE SHADOWING - Default is ON.
When ON the square boxes are SHADOWED with a dark line
to the right and bottom.
* help window 6
SELECT THE STYLE FOR YOUR CALENDAR: PORTRAIT OR LANDSCAPE

DUTCH: Serif-Style font similar to Times-Roman or Courier.
SWISS: No Serif font similar to Helvetica.
PROPORTIONAL: Each character is a different width.
[ NOTE: This font looks nicer, but your margins
[ may not line up due to the fact that each
[ character is not the same width.
[ EXAMPLE: Capital "W"s are very WIDE, and
[ Small "i"s are not WIDE at all!
FIXED-PITCH: All characters are the same width.
[ NOTE: This is similar to the way a typewriter
[ prints. All columns line up exactly.
LIGHT - Single-pixel wide. Saves Toner.
NORMAL - Double-pixel wide. Normal.
BOLD - Triple-pixel wide. Darker Characters.

================ SPECIAL HINT: ======================
Your ASCII TEXT file contains EMBEDDED PRINT COMMANDS.
Your file is still printable, but you will definately
not like the results.
Some possible reasons that your ASCII TEXT may contain
these commands may be may be:
1 - Your CAT software is trying to draw borders.
2 - Your CAT software is trying to switch fonts.
3 - Your CAT software was set to control the printer
directly, instead of just creating an ASCII TEXT.
Please change the setup in your CAT software to remove
all -fancy stuff- that is causing these printer control
commands to be inserted into the ASCII TEXT file.
<Press any key> to erase this message and continue
* help window 32
======================= HINT =============================
Your ASCII TEXT contains lines which are too long for me
to use my largest font. The next smaller font must be used.
POSSIBLE FIX: From the Main Menu, try selecting one of
the PROPORTIONAL FONTS instead of FIXED-PITCH.
We are still able to print your ASCII TEXT file, this is
only a suggestion.
<Press any key> to erase this message and continue
